Hello Dennis!
Unfortunately the metal parts (made of zinc) very often suffer from corrosion. I had this problem once, the clutch literally fell apart when you looked at it.
I´m sorry I have no spare clutch at home, but as this type of clutch has been used in many Saba models from the mid 50ies to the 60ies it shouldn´t be extremely difficult to find replacement.Beste Grüße, Jörg -
Hallo Joerg.
Thanks for the greeting. Yes, I've seen the toggle arms and the central guides deteriorated, but this is my first experience with the coupling supports having this malady.
It did work well until total failure while testing the refurbished motor drive assembly.
Thanks for verifying this part is common to many Saba models over a wide span of years.
With all those poor Saba radios having been stripped of their "Greencone" speakers, at least it should make it easier for me to find and purchase this part, I hope.
Kind regards,
Dennis -
You are very welcome!
I guess all parts made of Zinc can suffer from deterioration. In the radio mentioned above some part of the volume control and the pulley that drives the rope for the "Ferritantenne" (no idea how to say that in english...) had broken into pieces
Your theory of Sabas killed for their Greencones might proof to be true. Try that one:

Thanks for that tip!
If there will be no other offers for one in better condition, that will be a good option for me. If so, I would then attempt to exchange the one broken "Bakelite" pressure plate for the one of two I have here.
"Ferritantenne" = ferrite antenna.

A few years ago it was the same for TFK round speakers -
