Thank you Heino,PJ, for your advice,i will check the heater voltage,and the operation of the diode,i do not remember seeing any tar capacitors,i will check these also. The radios i have worked on in the past have been irish or british made.I am very impressed with the quality of design, and workmanship on my Saba Wildbad.The sound and reception of stations is excellent. regards Colin.

Hello, i am new to this site,i would like to introduce myself.I am an electrician working in a institute of technology in southern Ireland.Recently i purchased a lovely example of a wildbad 12,in working order.The only part not working was a faulty em 84 indicator valve which i replaced,it is now working perfectly.However our voltage here is 230 volts plus or minus 5v.will this cause problems with the transformer 220volt .supplying heater and High tension voltages.Also are there any components i…
