      Hi
      I came across your web site while searching for SABA information.
      I have 2 Saba radios.One working ,400 Vollautomatic Stereo 125T and one not working ,Continental 410US. Are there any parts available for these radios?I need two of the 20cm speakers 5898 420 002 or I need to get them rebuilt?

      Hi Andrew, welcome here in the Saba-Forum.
      The only source for original Saba parts like your speakers is Ebay.
      Ok, it could be, a member of this forum owns the speakers you are looking for.
      Are the speakers repairable, maybe?

      I am glad I found a site dedicated to Saba radios . My wife is fluent in German and can translate for me when needed ,she only has problems with the technical terms . Thanks for the link to the speaker repair .I get the idea from the pictures on how to repair a small tear .The 2 x 20cm Green cones I have are almost totally destroyed.I will look on Ebay to find replacements. By the way I read on another forum that the best material for repairing small tears in paper speakers is the pourous woven paper material that teabags are made from. I have schematics and manuals on order for both radios.I will take a picture of the 400 Vollautomatic Stereo 125T when I get it back together after cleaning and I will post. The Continental 410US may take a while because it needs a lot of repairs. By the way I am in Canada.

      PS Is there a source for the E5.5 light bulbs used in these radios?

      Hello Andrew,

      the little E5.5 bulbs are often used for model-railroading purposes. So if you don't find an electronics specialist, search the modellers-shops. Mostly the bulbs are rated 12V and about 80mA, but there are other voltages and currents available.

      According to the service-manuals the bulbs should have 8.5 Volts and 150 mA, and for example in Germany you can get bulbs rated 9 V and 80 mA easily. The small difference between 8.5 and 9 Volts doesn't matter, but 12V bulbs will perform too dim.
      Hope you get the bulbs easy and the sets in full working order soon!
