Thanks a lot I haven't powered the radio yet, but it could possibly be connector for external power switch. The socket seems to be connected with 2 white cables to the radio's transformer. I will come back with more info when i have removed the chassis from the cabinet. best regards nik

Hello to all, I recently got this very nice Grundig Radio-Pickup combination in very good condition. On the top of the radio cabinet and next to the PE pickup, there is a strange octal tube socket. Wolfgang, Du hast Recht. Das Ergebnis nicht 'Null' aber '1' (normalerweise dieses 1 bekkomt man auf meinem Multimeter wenn die Wiederstand zu hoch für die gewählte Skala ist-zB, eine wiederstand von 400K,würde '1' auf dem Schirm geben wenn ich die '200K' Skala gewählt habe. Also gibt es einen schlechten Kontakt irgendwo? mfg Nik

Das Wechselstrom kommt bis zum grauen und schwartzen Kabel (ich habe gemesst und überprüft); Aber von der Sekundärwicklung kommt nichts aus. Ich habe die Wiederstände gemesst: Primärwicklung: Null. Sekundärwicklung (HT): 93,6 Ohm. Secondärwicklung (LT): 0,136 genau wie auf Ihr Beispiel. Hallo! Hat jemand hier Erfahrung mit Austauchen von Netztransfos in Röhrenradios? Ich habe vor kurzem eine nicht funktionierende Grundig 3068, und eine funktionierende 7028, die von einer Truhe entfernt wurde, bekommen. Nach den ersten Tests wurde mir klar, dass der Netztrafo in der 3068 außer Betrieb war. Deshalb habe ich beschlossen, ihn mit dem einen aus der 7028 (alle Kabel sind gleichen und die Ausgangsspannungen sollten ähnlich sein, wenn nicht identische - bewiesen durch den Datenblättern…

Gestern Abend habe ich eine langere Antenne eingestellt (ung. 1,5 meter). Die radio hat besser geschpielt. Aber mit die Lautstärke immer an maximal, sonst höre ich nichts. Dann habe ich die Antenne mit der Hand wieder berührt und die Radio hat so laut gescpielt dass ich den Klang durch meine Kleidung …

I got a nice Telefunken OPUS 49 which I corrected a bit electronically and aesthetically (it had lots of bad capacitors and lots of capacitors and resistors of wrong value). Achim, I still have lots of trouble with replacing this resistor. I replaced with 2 resistors 47 Ohm and 20 Ohm 5W (the white square ones) in series and I connected a new 200K 2W resistor in between the two. But when I turn the radio on these resistors develop such enormous heat! you can see the change colour in a few minutes. I actually couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the solder melt at the point of connection of the three resistors! What am I doing wrong? I have checked and replaced everyt…

Hello, I am working on a Freiburg WIII and I have bumped on this strange black resistor. lightbox http://www.flickr.com/photos/58780736@N08/6275839495/in/photostream/lightbox/ I am unable to find this resistor on the schematic, can anyone identify it? It connects on another resistor (200K) which seems to be built on top (?) of the black resistor. Any ideas? What is its value and how can I replace it, and most important how will I connect the 200K resistor on the replacement? thanks!

Hello, I am new here and at the moment I am repairing a Freiburg WIII which I saved from the rubbish. Among other things I am planning to replace the Siemens bridge rectifier with 4 1N4007 diodes. Can someone suggest what value of resistor I should place in series between the new bridge and the filter capacitor? Also, could someone suggest suitable speakers for this radio?
