Suche Unterdecken (Bottom panel or cover) for Freiburg 3DS

Hi Dennis,
maybe hard to find but we keep your search in mind. Is that a special bottom cover or will others from different Freiburgs fit also ?
If we find something for you, I can hand it to my uncle. He will fly to Canada in August and mail it to you from there. That saves lots of shipping costs.
Best regards, Dieter -
Hallo Deiter, and thank you for looking for this item.
Honestly, I don't know if the bottom panel will be the same for other years of Freiburg.
I haven't received the radio itself yet. It is on its way to my house this coming week.
Included with this radio will be an accurate tracing (drawing) of this missing part, drawn from another 3DS which is in the collection of the seller. Then I can know the dimensions.
Kind regards,
Dennis -

Hallo Heiner,
Yes, this is the part I had searched for.
I will soon have the accurately reproduced part mailed to here.
I must laminate some metal foil to the one side of this panel and make a cutting tool to accurately cut the many holes in this metal foil, since the producer of this part can not use his laser to cut the metals and temper board material together.
This should not be a problem.
I was very fortunate to buy this very tired and abused Saba 3DS. (305 Euros + 85 versand.)
There are very few of this model found to be available in North America, I think.
It will require much work (and possibly an additional 100 Euros for small parts and materials) to bring it to a good standard once again, but this work is a big part of the fun (challenges) for me.
Greetings,

Hi Dennis, was your DIY project successfully ???
No- Not quite yet. Perhaps as the Winter comes, I will bring the little "Unimat" machine to my table and make the special tool for cutting the holes in the metal foil.
...So busy with the 3DS chassis/ funktion restaurt and ("between the raindrops") trying to complete two other radios......(2 X Koerting!) :kopfstand:
So, you see here....Not just one at a time.

Looks great !!!
BTW, have you seen this thread:

Hallo noch einmal, Heiner!
Thank you for the link to that thread.
"Lollocat" does a sehr schoen job for the old beauties! Along with a number of other restorers of this Forum, I can only wish to approach this level of talent. My sincere respect and compliments to him and others!
(I hope we don't get into some trouble here for discussing other than the brand Saba.) :oah:
Along with the empty and so not completed cabinet that you saw in my photo for a model "Dynamic," I also have a second one that I have completed.
Both of them are the same North American "export" model variant "1070."
I did not "restuff" any capacitors for mine. Perhaps I should have, for the historic/ optical purposes, but these models excite few collectors around here- except me. I fully agree with "Lollocat's" opinion....The ersatz "Stereo" sound from these models is indeed astounding to the ears. It is a good thing I collected some new EM85 augen....No EM81 ersatz for one of these tubes!
Here are some very quick, but not so good photos I made now....
First- The completed one...

Then the "export" chassis for the second one....

(The other empty cabinet in the photo from my above post is for the first "Syntektor" model of 1954. This model has some unusual features as well, aside from the UKW synchro detector.)
OK for now!
Gruss
