SABA WILDBAD 8

The Capacitor j223 must go to point 2. the Removed capacitor is a suppressed one. Mostely it will work with a normal modern capacitor like theese you have used. So remove the lead from point 1 and fix it to point 2.
In the picture there i see the old 100 mikrofarad capacitor what is often called a „must change“ because this one is in the power line of the EL 84 Tube together with the 170ohm resistor.
Hope my informations are clear to understand and correct. I am pretty shure there will be more informations from the specialists here, i am only a newbie.
( and i better use the laptop to write in english, my Ipad will automatic change words....)
In the past i have build a suppressed capacitor with copper put around the capacitor and from the copper a lead to the to the ground, so there are different ways to build a "shield" around the cpacitor, at last i have only used a modern one without any failure.

Your suggestions and advice was valuable Rainer!
I soldered the cap J223 to pin 2 ,replace the 100uf electrolytic capacitor,
and the 8uf electrolytic also.
Now the volume works as it should as you can see to the video.
It works nicely but after sometime it goes silent with these strange siren sounds again.
Sometimes these sounds are with music also together.
That long electrolytic cap to the pic is it a special one?.
or i can replace it with a normal 47μF 50V ?
Hard to find the 500 and 5000 pf (500VAC) capacitors
Thank you Rainer and Dieter

ceramics Kaps with 5000 and 500 pikofarad and 500vac are easy to get and work also fine. The 47 mikrofarad 50 Volt is for what ? ( now i See-yes you can use . 47 mikrofarad 50 Volt elektrolyt cap) I do not have the technical chematic with me. Are you sure with 50volt only? If possible use everytime capacitors with 500 vac and more. The peaks are on some points shortly more than 450 vac.

Ceramic caps are better than the old paper ones. I think it is a mythos that the Sound changes. ( this is vodoo
)
Probably not useful and not fit in any positions, but in this area they are working well.
A Picture of the power Switch will be helpful, sometimes that Switch is broken and they bridged it - to switch the Radio off is not more possible than in this status. Often they have bend a power Switch in the powercord.
Could be that you need to change the on / off Switch.
( What i write sounds like i have soooo many Radios repaired, that is not, only 3 ones, and under much help from this bord.)

Thank you for your fast response Rainer.
I think you have right about the ECC92 failure.I guess i have to buy a couple.
.
Work fine after changed the ECC 92 Tubes ?

In the first picture the cap with 5000pf —-
first of all remove this one without replacement.
This one is only very riskful and not realy helpful- some people replace this With a special cap- but dont need. The radio will work fine without it!
After this you Connect the wires on the power Switch - in the Future you can try to get a new one. If there is a way to repair it i dont know.
a switch in the power cord or a switchable
electrical socket can help till found a way.
In the past i learned that the ECC92 are very sensible
- so
a pair new ones will be a good choice -
